UR-CAVM attended and exhibited innovations and best practices in the agriculture sector during13th National Agriculture Show

The National Agriculture Show is the biggest and most attended Exhibition by the farmers. The 8 days event is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources with the objective of educating the larger public and investors about the importance of agriculture, some innovations, and its contribution to the country economy and to food security.The agriculture show is held every year during the months of June or July Mulindi Show Grounds.


“Invest in Innovations and Agribusiness to Transform Agriculture” is the theme of the 13th National Agriculture Show that was officially launched on 27th of June 2018 by Honorable Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) at Mulindi, Gasabo District, Kigali City. In that opening ceremony, the University of Rwanda represented by  the Principal of the College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinay Medicine (CAVM). Dr. Laetitia NYINAWAMWIZA.


Farmers in business (entrepreneurs) , researchers institutions and others private investors have been privileged to showcase innovations and best practices in the agriculture sector to stakeholders.The event brings together exhibitors and stakeholders in agriculture to exchange information, and experiences in agricultural development.

The Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources has called the  farmers across the country to come  up and learn from available best practices and innovations in order to improve their productivity in respective activities. “This Agri-show has many lessons for every farmer in Rwanda to learn and transform their agricultural practices into market-oriented enterprises. It is an opportunity that should not be missed out by the farmers in Rwanda.” Said by Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Gerardine MUKESHIMANA. 

The College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine  (CAVM) as one  of main exhibitors  have  showcase its  agriculture services in various domains such as mechanization, soil (composting), food processing , Animal and Veterinary services. The CAVM Stands received thousands of farmers cooperatives and others visitors.
