With the aim of strengthening the existing relations between Rwanda and Korea, Kim Eung-joong, H.E. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Rwanda, visited the University of Rwanda-College of Agriculture, Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at its headquarters located at Busogo Campus on Friday 20th October 2017.

The Korean Ambassador was received by Dr. Laetitia Nyinawamwiza, the Principal of the College, who briefed H.E. The Ambassador on the background of the University of Rwanda its vision, mission and also highlighting the ties CAVM has with the Embassy of Korea though its Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). “Since 2007, KOICA has been a key partner of CAVM in many areas especially in the provision of Advisors (PhD holders) for teaching in Forestry, Food Science and Horticulture, Animal Sciences, Veterinary medicine, Library management and ICT” reiterated Dr. Nyinawamwiza.

In his remarks, Kim applauded the strong ties between his country and Rwanda. In addition, he lauded the achievements made by the Government of Rwanda in the area of Education and more specifically the remarkable impact of CAVM at its surrounding communities. Kim ended his visit by attending a Korea Movie Show at Busogo Campus entitled the “Thieves”. During the movie show, the Ambassador also used this opportunity to talk to students and staff emphasizing the importance of reinforcing the bilateral relations between Korea and Rwanda especially in cultural activities.
