Saleh Ahishakiye, a Year 4 student in Food Science and Technology at the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Science (UR-CAFF), is the founder of TTT Processing Agency; a youth-led initiative offering innovative solutions to combat malnutrition, food waste, unemployment, and environmental challenges.
Among his flagship products are IBANGA FSA Flour, a cereal flour enriched with egg powder to enhance nutrition for children and mothers; IBANGA Pineapple Wine, which adds value to surplus pineapples while supporting local farmers; and IBANGA Laundry Detergent, an eco-friendly liquid soap made from pineapple peels that transforms agricultural waste into household cleaning products.
Through these innovations, Saleh is contributing to community development by empowering women and youth with employment opportunities, supporting farmers through fair sourcing, and promoting environmental sustainability by reducing post-harvest and processing losses.
His work has already gained national and regional attention, with IBANGA products showcased at major platforms including the IBMA 2023, the Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 in Rwanda, the African Food Systems Forum 2025 in Senegal, and the National Agricultural Show 2024 & 2025. He was also recognized as the First Runner-up in the Youth Category at the 18th Rwanda Agricultural Show 2025.
With his vision and leadership, Saleh is demonstrating how science and entrepreneurship can be combined to create impactful, sustainable solutions that improve livelihoods and strengthen Rwanda’s food systems.
