UR-CAVM systematizes a two days Research Exhibition and Career Fair

The University of Rwanda-College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (UR-CAVM) organizes a two days Research Exhibition and Career Fair around the theme “Agricultural Research and Innovation in advancing entrepreneurship and Agribusiness” from 6th to 7th June, 2019 at Busogo Campus.


In her welcoming remarks, Dr. Laetitia MYINAWAMWIZA, Principal of CAVM thanks all guests for accepting the invitation from UR-CAVM and recognizes the presence of invitees especially the guest of honor, the Permanent Secretary, in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources. She also expresses her appreciations for invaluable support provided by DEAD Project Rwanda, UR-Sweden Program/Agriculture Subprogram, SINA GERARD/Ese URWIBUTSO and International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to this event.


Speaking to the event, the principal of CAVM reminds that we are living the technology era where innovation becomes more and more dominant in all sectors, especially in Agriculture sector.” we need to make agriculture stimulating and smart to attract young entrepreneurs in Agribusiness.” Said Laetitia

The Guest of honor, PS in MINAGRI thanks the management of UR-CAVM for its good leadership and highlights that the majority of the population is in the domain of Agriculture whereby it can employ half of the Rwandan population. He encourages the university to partner with private institutions to cover the gaps found in the public sector by creating job to young entrepreneurs.

The director in NIRDA, Dr Kamana Olivier who was a former Lecturer at UR-CAVM invite CAVM students tackle calls for applications in the domain of Research which will be published through different social media in coming days.

The Director of Research, Prof. Deo Jaganyi, talking on UR-CAVM research portfolio and research Agenda, he appreciates the college in terms of female researchers from UR-CAVM, He also highlight the collaboration between UR-CAVM and other institutions such as centers of excellence, internet of things and the college of Business (Agribusiness) to make smart Agriculture. He also mentions the role of research in reducing poverty.


After different speeches, the participants’ visits stand of exhibitions where UR-CAVM students and alumni exhibit different products and participate to the oral presentations delivered by Researchers.
